The dome is a short taxi ride away and is a fabulous place to hang out! Located at the beginning of Edinburgh's trendy "George Street" the Dome is beautiful! formerly a bank building and is architecturally stunning.
Great for all times of day - afternoon tea in the Georgian Tea room is particularly nice. Open until late and a night club below.
George street is full of trendy bars like Le Monde, The Standing order, Browns, All Bar one, Tigerlilly and more.

A few minutes walk to the Palace from the cottage!
Absolutely beautiful palace where the Queen often visits when she is in Scotland! Pricey but absolutely worth it..... great cafe/restaurant where you can have a snack or afternoon tea if you are feeling rather posh. A gem and not to be missed
