Hike a volcano! Take the ferry from the Downtown Pier to Rangitoto Island, a dormant volcano, and hike to the top (about 1 hour). The hike is suitable for most levels of fitness and offers stunning views back across the harbor to Auckland city and beyond. You can spot Rangitoto Island from Takapuna Beach.
