Pretty market town with lots of nice cafes . Market day is Wednesday. There's the old castle ruin in a park with Bebra gardens, a little hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town next door, there's a children's paddling pool here. You can hire a rowing boat on the River Nidd; it's also a good spot to have a walk along the river banks.

Great for sightseeing in the Yorkshire Dales with fabulous walks, but if your feeling lazy you can park next to the river and picnic. Children play in the river here where it is shallower.

Lovely park, very busy but with quiet areas too . There is a pretty walk up into the pine woods, which are particularly fabulous when the rhododendrons are in flower.
There's one of the best children's play areas around and includes a paddling pool, skate park and crazy golf. There is also pitch and putt.
Try the delicious Ripley ice creams in the cafe.

We think this area is a hidden gem, the scenery near the river wharfe is beautiful. You can sit on the river banks for a fabulous picnic. It's quieter here than a lot of the dales...maybe people just don't know about it!

Another very local pub! Again just a few yards away, with a cosy bar area and open fire as well as a larger dining area. The pub offers good homemade food and a popular carvery during the winter months.

We are regular visitors to this lovely country pub situated just few yards away from us, it offers a fantastic and varied menu including our favourites monkfish, king prawn green Thai curry and traditional whitby haddock and chips. The traditional Sunday lunches are also very popular.
