In winter, particularly, this is the place to watch the starlings' murmurations - they swoop around the coast before roosting under the pier. Go an hour before sunset and marvel. Otherwise, deckchairs are free and it's a place to sit if you don't mind pier radio. The rides are expensive, the views are good to the east and west.
