On The Lake
Washburn Marina offers guided boat tours of Lake Lure and private boat rentals. If you are bringing your own boat you can also obtain a visitor boat permit here. All boats, including non-motorized vessels, require a daily permit.

The Flowering Bridge is a community volunteer planted and preserved Wildlife Habitat recognized by the National Wildlife Federation. It is a must see any time of year and an easy stroll for all ages and activity levels. We definitely recommend doing the scavenger hunt while touring the gardens. The scavenger hunt cards are located in the mailboxes at each end of the bridge.

This is hands down our favorite place to have a beer in Chimney Rock. Enjoy your beer next to the river or when it's hot enough take it in the river! The actual brewery is located in Mars Hill about 1 1/2 hours from Lake Lure. If you're up for a drive it is located in very cool old theater.
