Popular tourist area with beautiful surfing beaches, large lake recreational areas, central area with attractive foreshore parkland, a broad walk pathway from the foreshore around the surf life saving club and the beautiful family friendly open-air mall and eatery area called the ‘waterfront’.
One of the most popular attractions is the famous Pelican Feeding that takes place daily at 330pm. It features informative commentary and the spectacular sight of the pelicans being fed.
There is weekly markets held every Saturday 9-2pm at the memorial park waterfront, featuring fresh produce, gourmet food, art, fashion, crafts and plants.
There is a safe bike path throughout, which is an excellent way to see the sights and soak up the sunshine.
There are plenty of national parks and hikes nearby, including crack-neck look out, Wyrrabalong national park and and Toowoon Bay Point, which overlooks Toowoon Bay, Forresters Beach, Bateau Bay Beach & Spoon Bay.
