New Smyrna Beach is one of the few beaches left in the country where driving onto the beach is permitted. We recommend downloading and using the "Volusia County Beaches" app to get the latest status on beach ramp openings/closures.

North Causeway Drawbridge
The nearby George Musson/Coronado Beach drawbridge on the North Causeway (Flagler Avenue) is scheduled to open on the hour and half-hour between 7 AM and 7 PM, seven days a week. For all other times, the drawbridge will open on an on-demand basis.

Turtle nesting season runs each year from May 1 through October 31. During this time of year light pollution on or near the beach areas should be minimized to promote nesting of sea turtles!
