The hortus botanicus is one of the oldest botanical gardens. It exists right on this spot in Amsterdam since more then 350 years. The world is here, in herbs, plants and trees that is. You'll get there from our house by taking a walk through Oosterpark, walk past our city Zoo: Artis, and then just a mile or so further into the city center

The world is here, in herbs, plants and trees that is. You'll get there from our house by taking a walk through Oosterpark, walk past our city Zoo: Artis, and then just a mile or so further into the city center
A tiny theater just a mile or so away. You select 2 to 3 performances/acts for a night, eat some fingerfood and have a drink in between. The acts vary from music to cabaret and comedy. So if you don't speak dutch we advise you to go for the music.

If you want to go for a nice lunch experience. Travel through the city by tram of walk to the central trainstation. Move on to the other site of the trainstation and get the ferry on the outer left side of the ferries to NDSM. It will take you in 15 minutes to a nice spot. In a few minutes you reach Pllek with a great restaurant and terrace. It's one of our lovely 'city beaches' if you want you can sit with your bare feet in the sand. In a few hours time you see a lot about the city, travel over water and have a nice lunch or diner on one of the most popular spots in Amsterdam. Most of the time there will be a space available with not too much waiting time, but to be safe it is nice to be there around noon, you can choose your table inside and outside. At night you can enjoy live music and sit at the fire.

How to move around in Amsterdam
Just outside our door and around the corner: you have some tramstops. They will bring you anywhere in Amsterdam.
5 minutes walk from our house is the trainstation.
And nearby there are several places where you can rent a bike.
