A nice little independent coffee shop with seating for meals as well as coffee/tea. A nice hot chocolate is made here! Simple food, unpretentious, a place to meet with friends or sit quietly and read.

A stunning example of the work of Christopher Wren. There are further examples of his work with Tom Tower at Christ Church College and the Radcliffe Camera. Oxford is filled with architectural gems, and this is just one of many.

This old pub is hundreds of years old and has a saucy history. It is opposite the beautiful St. Andrew's Church where Ethelred the Unready was baptised and the old gravestones greet you after an evening in one of the most friendly pubs in Oxford. If you are lucky you may get to meet 'Winnie' the pub cockapoo - a dog that loves everyone!

It is opposite the beautiful St. Andrew's Church where Ethelred the Unready was baptised and the old gravestones greet you after an evening in one of the most friendly pubs in Oxford. If you are lucky you may get to meet 'Winnie' the pub cockapoo - a dog that loves everyone!
Sightseeing
This beautiful palace is where Winston Churchill was born and you can see his baby vests, dutifully darned by a loving nursery nurse if you wish to enter the palace itself. The grounds were designed by our great landscape designer, Capability Brown, and strolling through the grounds is a real pleasure to walk, even if it is cold and wet. There are usually events at weekends but just having a coffee and looking out over the fountains of the formal gardens is more than enough for a pleasant day out. There are old oaks worthy of photographing - some must be a thousand years old - truly beautiful.
