Kensington is a small business district, about four blocks by four blocks shaped like two sides of a square, so it’s easy to walk around and see it all.
Don’t be fooled by the neighbourhood’s size though. This areas punches above its weight with about 255 shops and services. There are some cool historic buildings combined with modern architecture, but all in all, the feeling is of a small village. It has a cool and often whimsical take in the variety of shops and public art.
The Kensington district is more than 100 years old and continues to be a great inner city shopping district for tourists and is a popular destination for locals for dates and hanging out.

Hip, inner-city Mission focuses on lively 4th Street, which is dotted with sculptures by local artists and home to stores selling premium wine, indie designer fashion and New Age trinkets. Dining options range from sushi and Vietnamese to French and Mexican, and craft beer pubs, cocktail spots and karaoke bars fill up after dark. Trails line shady MNP Centre and snake along the banks of the Elbow River.
