One of our favourite parks along the Truckee River, good for walking, picnicking and playing. Contains a children's playground, duck ponds, and a rose garden. During the summer, it's a great place to use the outdoor swimming pool and grab a meal on Food Truck Fridays .

Outdoor Adventure
Now renamed to Palisades, this is one of the largest ski areas in the US, and host to the 1960 Winter Olympics. Awesome terrain for skiing in the winter and exploring on foot or by bike in the summer (you can ride the aerial tram). It's a 50-minute drive from the house but well worth it if you're looking for world-class skiing. We especially like to ski on the Alpine Meadows side.

Awesome terrain for skiing in the winter and exploring on foot or by bike in the summer (you can ride the aerial tram). Mount Rose is the closest major ski resort to Reno (less than 30 minutes from the house), and the tallest one in Tahoe. We usually ski at Palisades but this is also a nice mountain and you can't beat the distance!
