Quake Lake Visitor center is a 40 minute drive from the cabin. Quake Lake is a lake, on the Madison river in Southwestern Montana. It was created after an earthquake struck on August 17, 1959 with 28 fatalities. Quake Lake is 6 miles long and 125 feet deep.

Mesa Falls is a 40 minute drive from the cabin. Upper Mesa Falls , a thunderous curtain of water-as tall as a 10-story building- pours over remnants of an ancient volcanic super-eruption. A mile south, Lower Mesa Falls repeats the performance, the river continually chiseling away at the solidified ash and lava. The beautiful Upper and Lower Mesa Falls are the last prominant waterfalls on the Snake River unaffected by manmade influences. a scenic walking path leads to excellent viewpoints .It is a spectacular waterfall and visitor center. Awesome to see.

Anglers fish for cutthroat, brook and cut-bow hybrid trout in what is considered one of the finest trout fisheries in the west. It offers beautiful nature trails for hiking and biking and wildlife and wildflower viewing

Cliff and Wade Lakes sit on a geologic fault that formed a chasm that filled with water; Cliffs surround much of the lakes shorelines. Cliff lake is larger and more isolated. Wade lake is easier accessible and gets more use. It's spring fed and stays partly ice free in the winter. It is home to prairie falcons, bald eagles and osprey. Water fowls and beavers are common there. In winter you will see otters and trumpeter swans on Wade Lake. Cliff Lake offers exception canoing, especially in remote coves.
