WEST COAST CASUAL: This little spot is so cute and unique (especially if you have a fur baby). They have outdoor seating with individual fire places, and their patio is pet friendly. (We often go here after taking the dog for a walk at Ambleside dog beach).
The atmosphere is more of the draw, over the food. But they have really great margaritas and chicken burgers!

Eagle Harbour is hands down the best place to swim in the ocean on the shore. The inlet is calm and generally warm, with nice soft sand and...outdoor showers! A great place to bring a floaty and some snacks, and spend the day (sans dogs unfortunately).

Grocery Stores & Amenties
Cute little seaside village with restaurants, boutique shops and pubs. They also have an IGA grocery store and a Jack's Liquor store—which makes it easy to park and get groceries etc. in a peaceful neighbourhood.

Fresh Street is a great little grocery store, just down the hill from our home in Ambleside Village. There is a liquor store across the street, a wine store next door and a pharmacy kitty corner as well.

Ambleside is by far our favourite dog beach. There are almost always dogs to play with, and ample room to run and swim.

Lighthouse park is a completely off-leash walking area, set in a beautiful rainforest by the sea. There are many easy little adventures to be had on well maintained trails.
It's actually lovely to walk through on rainy days because the forest offers a canopy with some rain protection.
Go early in the summer as it can be busy and there is limited parking. Winter is okay!

4902 Beacon LnLighthouse park is a completely off-leash walking area, set in a beautiful rainforest by the sea. There are many easy little adventures to be had on well maintained trails.
It's actually lovely to walk through on rainy days because the forest offers a canopy with some rain protection.
Go early in the summer as it can be busy and there is limited parking. Winter is okay!
This trail runs right through our block! One house down from us you can either hike up the mountain into the forest, or down towards the waterfall and damn.
If you are feeling very adventurous, you can walk over the damn and enjoy a meal or coffee in Edgemont Village on the other side of the river :)

This trail runs right through our block! One house down from us you can either hike up the mountain into the forest, or down towards the waterfall and damn.

If you like to road bike, one of our favourite rides is to park our car in Ambleside and bike over the bridge, around Stanley park and around the inner seawall (and back).

This spot is an absolute gem for bikers. Aprox 25 kms of perfectly paved roadway (only for bikes) that runs through a stunning forest and ultimately takes you to a damn. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed here.
It's a completely unique bike path, and well worth the adventure!

2369 Lillooet RdThis spot is an absolute gem for bikers. Aprox 25 kms of perfectly paved roadway (only for bikes) that runs through a stunning forest and ultimately takes you to a damn. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed here.
It's a completely unique bike path, and well worth the adventure!
If you want to go for a longer ride (60 km) we recommend parking in Ambleside and biking over the bridge, around the seawall, around Point Gray and then down the Arbutus Greenway—and back again. It's mostly oceanside, and the Arbutus Greenway is a treat to bike on.
