For the more urban traveler, art spaces, eclectic and hip clothing shops. Catch an uber there, or a train into city then a tram up to Brunswick St.

Food scene
Great local cafe which is open 7-3 and has burger nights one Friday a month. They make a pretty good chai and a decent coffee, all served with a smile.

I don't think I have had a better kebab anywhere.
Try the mix grill kebab, or, if vegetarian/vegan, they will make you up a felafel kebab (even though it is not on the regular menu)
