It is very family friendly and is only a short walk from the house.
It also has a high end restaurant called Bert’s Bar & Brasserie, reminiscent of the grand hotel dining rooms of the 1930s, with the relaxed air of Sydney’s northern beaches.

Newport is known for the large variety of restaurants and cafes. Here are a few of our favourites.
Cafes:
Rusti Fig, great coffee, freshly made sandwiches/ wraps and other treats.
The woods, great coffee and bakery foods. Delicious savoury and sweet treats.
Pivot, great coffee and very reasonably priced breakfast.
Restaurants:
Sahar is an Afghan restaurant. Afghan food is a unique blend of flavours inherited from over 5000 of rich heritage. It's a fusion of Middle Eastern, Mongolian and Indian food, making it one of the most diverse cuisines in the world.
Sir Duncan is a neighbourhood wine bar featuring minimal intervention wine, an ever changing menu with a focus on Italian and Spanish inspired share plates, cocktails for everyone and live music.
Sankaku Izakaya is a small Japanese restaurant in the heart of Newport. They use local, sustainable and high quality ingredients to bring our customers the upmost fresh and delicious dishes.
Lucky & Peps is quite the social hub for the local community, a cosy and inviting environment where families and friends gathered for a pizza and a chat. Now, almost 30 years on, the managers at Lucky & Pep's are honoured to be at the centre of a close-knit and welcoming community. A very kid friendly restaurant.

Palm Beach is famous as the place that Home & Away is filmed.
At the southern end of Palm Beach you will find an ocean pool and small waves (called kiddies corner). Perfect for beginner surfers or for small children to play safely in the water.
At the northern end on the Pittwater side you can walk up to see Barrenjoey lighthouse. At the top you have beautiful views over Pittwater.
There is a great cafe called The Boathouse Home, it has great coffee and lovely homewares.

You can catch the 199 Bus just around the corner. This 199 service goes to Manly. If you are heading to the city you would catch the 199 bus to Mona Vale where you can get on the B line (an express service to the city).
