The closest dumpsters are 1/2 mile down route 750 (Alum Ridge Rd) across from Pleasant Valley Church located at 3883 Alum Ridge Rd NW, Floyd.
Do not leave any food trash out at night! We will take full trash bags for you if you tell us before 4pm.

Buffalo Mountain Nature Preserve boasts an amazing 13 rare plants and 3 rare animals. The combination of high-elevation (3,971 feet), wind-exposure, and magnesium rich soils make it unlike any place else in the Commonwealth.
Public access facilities include a small parking area and a STEEP 1 mile hiking trail to the summit.
Directions from the cabin:
Take a left leaving Heartwood Farm onto VA 750 then right at the T onto US 221 about 15 miles to the town of Willis. Turn right onto VA 799 (Conner Grove Road). Follow VA 799 about 5 miles to VA 727. Turn right onto Moles Road (VA 727). Go about 1 mile, and turn right to stay on VA 727. Go 1 mile to a 3-way fork. Bear to the right and follow the gravel access road to the parking area / trail head.

The Floyd Country Store has become a traditional gathering place on Friday nights for musicians, dancers, and visitors from all over the world. The Friday Night Jamboree is an authentic experience shared by old-timers and new visitors alike.

The Country Store has some great folk music and blue grass played in the traditional circle setting. Musicians, dancers, and audience members are always welcome. This is a free casual event open to the public.
