If you love adventure and the outdoor (of course you do!) then a visit to the moors is a must. Lots of wonderful walks and stunning views.
Be prepared for very changeable weather and plan your walk before you leave.
Don't forget to take water with you!

This unique forward thinking transition town is full of charm and alternative and independent shops. There is a market on Friday and Saturdays and a little further on and you will find some of the finest secret beaches in Devon!

Small local town with lots of charm and lots to see. The Guild of Craftsman is wonderful arts and crafts center with a cafe and there are some lovely walks along the old railway line and beyond.

Sightseeing
Beautiful woodland walks and bike trails only about 10mins drive away.
There is a cafe and you can even hire segways!

If you are looking for a local beach then this on and Teignmouth are the closest. Teignmouth beach has a town attached while this one is more out on its own and much larger.
There are lots of seaside type shops and fast food outlets at Dawlish Warren so ideal for a local beach day.
You will find some of the better beaches the other side of Totnes or in North Devon but that would be more of a daytrip. This one could be an afternoon or morning trip.
