If you walk away from the village and along the costal path towards Black Rock Sands you will reach this quite sandy beach. You can't drive to this beach, so only people who come here are the ones that know to park in the village and walk along the coastal path.

Just a short drive from Caernarfon, the beautiful beach at Dinas Dinlle is well worth a visit. It has free parking nearby and a beach café that serves an excellent Welsh breakfast. Facilities include disabled access, promenade, toilets and a beach shop but you need to bring beach chairs. The beach has extensive golden sands that give way to an area of pebbles near the road.

Abersoch beach is on the Llyn Peninsula. Its sheltered position makes it ideal for bathers and watersports lovers alike. Its easterly aspect means it faces the mountains of west Wales and St Tudwal's Islands giving spectacular views. The beach is considered to be "safe" with no severe currents or rips in normal conditions. A motor boat exclusion zone provides a secure area for bathers. Speed restrictions are enforced near to the beach marked by a series of yellow buoys. Local advise: don't pronounce this place as 'Abersock', the name is 'Abersoch' and you pronounce the end of the name like 'loch' you find in Scotland.

Barmouth is southern Snowdonia's most popular seaside resort. The town's beach, Abermaw, is west facing with a mixture of sand and some fine shingle and is ideal for bathing and watersports. There are some breathtaking views of Cardigan Bay and the picturesque harbour. The town can get busy, a land train runs along the promenade and there are traditional donkey rides, swing boats and amusement arcades, but the beach itself is vast and easily big enough to get away from it all. There is good disabled access to the beach and all leisure amenities, including a full range of shops, cafes and pubs are within a short distance of the beach.

National Trust site on the Llyn Peninsula: The English name for Porthor ’Whistling Sands’, is derived from the squeak or whistle emitted by the peculiar shaped sand particles being rubbed together when walked on in warm weather. The sound can be made by stamping or sliding the feet on dry sand.
