One day getaways

The closest and perfect getaway, it's easy and near you can take the ferry from Puerto Juarez or Playa Tortugas in Hotel Zone, its like 30 min crossing. When you arrive you can rent a golf cart, scooter or bike to go around the island. Visit: Playa Norte (most beautiful beach, try not to go on weekends) Punta Sur (Ixchel Goodes temple and Mundaca Pirate House). Eat: Tikin Xik Fish, that the local dish.

Izamal is a small, charming and beautiful colonial town in the centre of Mexicoโ€™s Yucatan Peninsula about 3.30 hours driving from Cancรบn, with a magical and peaceful atmosphere, and where the cobblestone streets are lined with historic colonial buildings painted in a beautiful and eye-catching mustard yellow colour. Itโ€™s no wonder Izamal is also known as โ€œThe Yellow City!โ€ Due to its central location, exploring Izamal makes for an interesting and convenient day trip to take from the nearby city of Merida.

Home of more than 400 bird species, Rio Lagartos is a protected area on the Yucatan coast, mainly famous for the Pink flamingo. The estuary formed by brackish water channels (fresh and salty) surrounded by mangroves is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna. Besides the 400 birds, they have also registered 100 species of fish, about 105 species of reptiles, and 57 mammals. A natural paradise for nature lovers! ๐Ÿ’š

Located in the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula, Las Coloradas is the name of the pink lakes in Mexico, on the Yucatan coast, but also of the small town nearby. Why is the water so pink? Because of particular critters living inside the water. Along come to the Pink Flamingoes as well, whose feathers get the same shades of pink since they feed with the same bacteria. You can ask me about how to get there driving so you donโ€™t have to share a tour with more tourists ;)

Local Transportation

Only use taxis and buses a good option itโ€™s to rent a car so you can go wherever you want. Uber itโ€™s not legal yet in Cancun so try not to use it, we donโ€™t want you to have a bad experience during your time in Cancun, take small bills and change.
