Local tip: Use the AirPorter380 (Manukau bound) bus service to Papatoetoe train station, and take a quiet, brand new, comfortable electric train into the heart of central Auckland (see my Papatoetoe train station guide). Easy as.
For late or super early arrivals, the SkyBus is still the best option.

Note, the Sky Bus no longer departs or arrives from downtown Auckland. It is a 15-20 min walk from the upper Queen Street stop to downtown.
