Fabulous area of Hastings with winding streets and secret twittens, plus the steepest venicular railway in the country going up to the East Hill. Only beach based fishing fleet in the country now apparently and fresh fish for sale from the net huts. Great range of food, an art gallery - plenty of junk and vintage shops plus beautiful views from the top of the west and east hill.

Phenomonal Cliff top walk and stunning views out to south downs way to Brighton. Amazing coastline - dont go too close to the crumbling cliff top! They are very high.

Magical tree stumps that look like mythical creatures and big ferns...then find a pub locally for lunch/dinner.

lovely walk from alexandra park past the reservoir and into the gyll. walk alongside the stream and under the bridge - imagine the victorians taking their stroll on a weekend to visit the two waterfalls - sadly only one now at the end of the walk due to redirecting water to serve hastings - lovely medieval woodland and lots of bird song.

3 Penhurst Cllovely walk from alexandra park past the reservoir and into the gyll. walk alongside the stream and under the bridge - imagine the victorians taking their stroll on a weekend to visit the two waterfalls - sadly only one now at the end of the walk due to redirecting water to serve hastings - lovely medieval woodland and lots of bird song.
Steepest funicular railway in the country. Awesome views from the stroll at the top. well worth climbing the steps to East Hill if the lift isnt working. Stop for a pint at the queens head at the bottom of the steps on the way back.

Rock-a-Nore RoadSteepest funicular railway in the country. Awesome views from the stroll at the top. well worth climbing the steps to East Hill if the lift isnt working. Stop for a pint at the queens head at the bottom of the steps on the way back.

visit the caves and imagine the scene of smugglers from yesteryear. Great for kids and adults to be honest! Then go to West Hill play park and let the kids play while you take in 180 degrees views of the coast line and town. Fantastic view old town from the west hill too
