The island is a stopping place for many migrating birds, including the herring gull, great black-backed gull, common shelduck, little egret, eider, wigeon and yellow-legged gull. There is also a botanical garden on the island.

The Channel Islands/Isles Anglo-Normandes are a little bit of the UK and a little bit of France. The juxtaposition of British red letter boxes & police officers in old fashioned helmets, then roads, buildings and peoples names are French: it's a great mixture.
