Food scene
This is a short list of some of my favourite restaurants. I love to cook and eat, in fact you could say that food is a minor obsession in our family. On the whole we prefer fun places that keep it real, where the food is great but you don’t get a 10 minute explanation of each course before you get a bite!
My absolute favourite restaurant, from the charming setting in a pretty square in central Stellies, to the lovely hosts and friendly staff and of course, the mouth watering authentic Japanese food.

This is a good choice when you are in the mood for a juicy steak or sometimes just for a cocktail on the stoep. They have a lovely garden at the back which is perfect for summer. Please be aware though that the meat is not free range it is from a feedlot which is a pity but true of most of the restaurants in Stellies.

The Fat Butcher
1 Van Riebeeck StThis is a good choice when you are in the mood for a juicy steak or sometimes just for a cocktail on the stoep. They have a lovely garden at the back which is perfect for summer. Fabulous Lebanese food in vast portion sizes. Absolutely delicious. Restaurant opens down the whole side onto the street giving it a great vibe.

Farm Market
This beautiful historic wine farm has a wonderful market with food stalls and live bands in a gorgeous setting. Definitely a must do from Friday nights to Sunday afternoon. Incredible mountain biking is available at the trail centre.
