Cool Saloon in Water Valley Alberta 1 hour away from Calgary.
Great spot for sandwiches,coffee and market items, I can personally say they have great deserts, lovely breads and yummy sandwiches. Nice outdoor seating area as well.

if you don't want the crowds of Canmore and Banff head to Kananaskis it is a beautiful area, lots of hiking and the most breathtaking scenery.

if you don't want the crowds of Canmore and Banff head to Kananaskis it is a beautiful area, lots of hiking and the most breathtaking scenery.
This National Park is shared with Glacier National Park in Montana, it is an absolutely beautiful place and I suggest you stay in the area overnight as there is so much to see. Take the Waterton Shoreline Cruise, it is a wonderful excursion.

Alberta 5This National Park is shared with Glacier National Park in Montana, it is an absolutely beautiful place and I suggest you stay in the area overnight as there is so much to see. Take the Waterton Shoreline Cruise, it is a wonderful excursion.
Drumheller where the museum is located it a must see, you will not be disappointed, spend a night in the area as you don't want to miss anything!

Atlas Coal Mine is a National Historic Site, they also have tours that offer an informative entertaining tour of what life was like on the Coal Mine This tour is amazing, we had the best time, check out the trip-advisor reviews you will not be disappointed, fun for anyone. I recommend the Tunnel Tour.

110 Century Dr WAtlas Coal Mine is a National Historic Site, they also have tours that offer an informative entertaining tour of what life was like on the Coal Mine This tour is amazing, we had the best time, check out the trip-advisor reviews you will not be disappointed, fun for anyone. I recommend the Tunnel Tour.
The summer Skyline Calgary Luge track runs alongside the famous Winsport winter Olympic Luge track, located at COP ( Canada Olympic Park) Great family fun. Must be over 3 feet 6 inches tall to participate.

The Frank Slide was a rockslide that buried part of the mining town of Frank, Northwest Territories,Canada, at 4:10 a.m. on April 29, 1903. Around 110 million tonnes (121 million US tons) of limestone rock slid down Turtle Mountain. Witnesses reported that the rock had reached up the opposing hills within 100 seconds, obliterating the eastern edge of Frank, the Canadian Pacific Railway line and the coal mine. It was one of the largest landslides in Canadian history and remains the deadliest, as between 70 and 90 of the town's residents were killed, most of whom remain buried in the rubble. Frank Slide interpretive Centre is a must visit it is am amazing sight to see in person, a part of Alberta and Canadian History. I have done the tour and would highly recommend. Please note the province of Alberta was not created until September 1905, more than two years after the slide. The community was still part of the Northwest Territories when the incident occurred.

Mchugh Bluff stairs located off Memorial drive offer a fantastic view of the city ( also some good exercise walking up and down the stairs)
