A restaurant that works against food waste and makes wonderful dishes at the same time: Instock works with leftover food from local supermarkets. Great for the environment plus a lovely atmosphere and great food. Just down the street from the apartment, Czaar Peterstraat 21.

Very nice boutique giftshop, beautiful unique pieces made by local and international artists. Special but affordable. We buy our presents here all the time :)

Brouwerij 't IJ is truly a local treasure: it's a brewery located inside a historical Dutch mill. Their own super tasty (and extremely popular!) beer is brewed right here and consumed on the terrace.

The world famous and very influential Stedelijk Museum of modern art. The building has been beautifully restored and there are always interesting exhibitions going on. My favorite museum :)

The closest bike rental place, right down the street. Located at a nice bike rental shop, 'Het zwarte fietsenplan'. A little bit more expensive than Flying Dutch bike rental.
