The Art restaurant and bar on the top floor of the hotel offers an excellent modern European and Croatian cuisine, and the cocktails aren’t too bad either. One of the main reasons to eat in this restaurant though are the amazing views of old Sibenik back across the harbour.

Another one of our favourites. This well-regarded old-town restaurant has a lovely elevated terrace on a small square. You’ll find lots of interesting dishes including octopus à la tinel (like a goulash). Please note that at the time of writing – the restaurant was not taking bookings so you may need to queue but it will be well worth it.

Sibenik’s most famous building, St James Cathedral, is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A unique gothic–renaissance monument. Look out for all of the faces carved into the stone on the outside. Explore inside for a small entrance fee, appropriate clothing (covered shoulders and legs above knees) is advisable.
