This café in a refurbished petrol station is one of Hobart’s favorite (and most bustling). The coffee is fantastic, as is the Chinese fried omelet. Great place to sit outside in the sun.

A very fun sushi train experience, where you order your food via a computer at your table, and it is delivered straight to you via the train. The food is pretty good, and the atmosphere is great. Kids love it.

This place is an excellent all-rounder that does everything well. Really great Japanese food, buzzy bar, fun vibes, and they serve food late every night of the week, which is a valued commodity in Hobart. The miso mushrooms are REALLY good. I love this place.

Ti Ama offers some excellent Italian pizza from a mirror ball wood-fired oven in the heart of Salamanca. The décor is earnestly hipster-Melbourne but the pizza comes from the people behind Local Pizza, so it’s the real deal, despite the touristy location.
