Pretty good Pho. It's right by Boston Common, where you'll inevitably end up, regardless of where you're interested in traveling. ~$9.

Nice park in downtown Boston and the beginning of the "The Freedom Trail" (2.5mi/4km), which is a must for anyone interested in history. (Guided tours online if you're on a budget.)

It's MIT. You have to go just to say you did. Plus, it's along the Charles River (which you should drop $20-$30 to kayak along!) and most everyone loves the walk along Mass Ave between Harvard and MIT. Personally, I like "Building 10": it has posters for all kinds of clubs and indirectly shows you the life of the MIT campus.

VERY nice for what it is. If a Presidential museum interests you, definitely check it out!

The Red Sox! Ticket prices are steep if you're not a fan but... I got in for free with a friend by holding up a "I *heart* the Red Sox! I *heart* Free Tickets!" sign. Rethink possible :P

Sightseeing
Mostly a tourist trap now, but still an interesting walk if you've never been. Pho Pasteur is there, and it's very close to Boston Common and the harbor.

If you're following a map app from South Station, it'll likely have you cross the street, take the "SL4" bus here (i.e. the Dudley bus station), and then transfer to either bus 19, 23, or 28 to get to my place.
