I somehow always have this place to myself. Macauley Mountain (an Ontario 'mountain') feels like a canopied forest bowl. There's lots of wildlife and fascinating growth. I saw a big buck when I was there last. The parking area is behind birdhouse city.

The dunes are my favourite ~ there's a section so steep you can hit it with a toboggan !

Arts & Culture
This is a special spot to visit in the Fall for their Corn Maze! I would also highly recommend rolling through Allisonville if you'll be here in October. There's a family there that make a mini haunted theme park on their front yard, it's the best!

The Campbell's Orchard & Country Market
1633 County Rd 3This is a special spot to visit in the Fall for their Corn Maze! I would also highly recommend rolling through Allisonville if you'll be here in October. There's a family there that make a mini haunted theme park on their front yard, it's the best!
This is an established gallery who thoughtfully appeal to a diverse range of arts interests. I've seen some of my favourite Canadian artists at Oeno Gallery, as well as local talent. The sculpture garden could be fun for the kids too! It's a great place to visit while you are in the County.

This barn furniture/antiques store is my favourite in the County. They've got a beautiful collection of wares there and the owners are interesting folks too.

The County is all about local. If you can buy local and support independent shops then that's great! There's vegetable stands around every corner, the Cherry Valley Store is a great little spot to stop for supplies, there's an ice cream/laundromat on Elk St. that's just perfect, you'll find it all!
