In this live commented DJ set, you’ll experience the evolution of Rio’s rhythms and explore how funk has bumped up against—and helped to shape—the city’s history. • We’ll get down to some of the most iconic beats from Rio’s rich musical heritage. • We’ll listen for diasporic rhythms and how they combine with other elements of the music to help tell the city’s story. • We’ll learn how Black musicians and music lovers have responded to—and triumphed over—urban reforms and other efforts to silence them. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Rio’s rhythms and the people who continue to shape them—and with an exclusive print that unlocks a playlist of the music you’ve heard. *The minimum number of participants for the workshop is four. In this experience, we will pick you up from your home* and take you to get to know the most important points of the city. We will begin immediately by visiting Christ the Redeemer (ticket included), to avoid queues and take the best photos; then the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, an artistic area with its exclusive tram and then the Selarón Staircase, one of Rio's most famous sights. From there we will go to the Metropolitan Cathedral, a unique building in downtown Rio. Afterwards, we visited Maracana Stadium from outside. We stop for lunch** * right after. After lunch we go to visit the Parque Lage. Parque Lage is a historic and cultural park located at the base of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. While it is an independent site with its own history and attractions, Parque Lage is part of the Tijuca National Park, a vast protected area that includes one of the world’s largest urban rainforests. At the end you have two options: we can take you back home or drop you off at Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) (ticket not included), where you can take a cable car up to the top of this magnificent hill. *Pick up and drop off in some areas of Rio's south zone. The tour starts in the middle of the afternoon at the pier in Urca near Bar urca. We will sail by the Fortress of São João, Fortress Laje, and Fortress Santa Cruz, and close to the Island of Boa Viagem in Niterói. There will be one stop point at Adão e Eva beach or Praia Vermelha, perfect for picture taking, and if you are interested in swimming! Then we will pass by the Museum of Contemporary Art and sail back with the amazing sunset view on the horizon. There are gorgeous views of Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer throughout the ride, as they are central to the scenery of Rio's coast. The tour finishes after the sunset to make the most of this amazing view of the city. Other things to note You must bring your camera, sunscreen, swimsuit, and flip-flops.

We will meet at my house at the Barra Canal, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio! From here, we will get straight on the boat in my backyard and head to the Tijuca Islands in front of Barra da Tijuca beach. You will be amazed at how quickly the big city changes to beautiful nature! The cliffs drop straight into the sea, where the water is beautiful and sea life is everywhere! As we head into the ocean toward the islands, we will see wildlife such as sea turtles, sea birds and amazing species of fish. We will cruise by boat around the islands and you will have the option to go in the water to swim and snorkel with the turtles and many different types of fish or just watch turtles and birds from the boat. For the more adventures ones, we can do a little tour walking in the Alfavaca Island where is possible to see some baby sea birds (most of the year) and jump from rocks to the water. After the 2 1/2 hour tour in the Tijuca Islands we will head back to Barra. This is an experience you will not forget - a way to see the beautiful natural side of
