Neon nights - photographing Kreuzberg after dark

Accompany a street photographer on a nighttime walk through the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. I’ll share the techniques I’ve learned to bring out the beauty of the city’s illuminated architecture, neon-lit cafes, and iconic landmarks after dark. • We’ll meet at the cozy Brandi Espresso Bar. Before we head out, I’ll introduce you to the fundamentals of night photography, including tips on capturing stunning shots with your phone or camera. • Then we’ll take a photo walk through Kreuzberg. You’ll have the chance to capture the district’s illuminated landmarks, street art, and dynamic nightlife, all while experimenting with different approaches in a collaborative atmosphere. • We’ll wrap up at an artist’s studio on Urbanstrasse, where you’ll select and print three of your favorite shots. You won’t just get to see a new side of Berlin on our night walk. You’ll leave with new photography skills and a memento of your creative exploration.

Art galleries and architectural tour along Karl-Marx Allee

In this walking tour of East Berlin, we’ll walk along Karl-Marx Allee and learn about the distinct socialist architecture of this boulevard as well as visit several contemporary art galleries, checking out new works from emerging and established artists and speak about the history and present of Berlin as a hotbed of creativity. • We’ll meet up at the ecclectic Café Tasso to talk about how artists have shaped Berlin since the reunification of Germany in the early 1990s and about the city’s diverse art scene. We will also talk a look at the vast collection of second-hand books in the basement of the café. • Then we’ll make our way along Karl-Marx Allee. Along the way we´ll visit several galleries, such as Galerie im Turm, NBB, Capitain Petzel and others, to tour their current exhibits and, occasionally, speak to curators I know. • As we walk down the street, we’ll discuss the artworks we have seen. I’ll also point out some of the most notable buildings around us and intricate details of them, which reflect the Stalinist “wedding cake” style of architecture that makes this street unique. • The tour concludes at the Café Moskau, another iconic building of the post-war era of eastern Berlin. The tour is a great way to explore the Friedrichshain district of Berlin and get an insider’s view of the city’s vibrant contemporary art scene.

Actually, think of this as the Politically incorrect tour of Berlin, so feel free to bring along your favorite rude jokes when joining us. It will be full of bad language and bad taste jokes-while paying respect where it is due. No snowflakes allowed! Our exploration will involve memorials, monuments and graves, along with churches and parks. We will discuss a mix of history, current events, local cuisine, the best spots for a cold German beer by the city center of Berlin. Be prepared to be socially active. This is a private photoshoot in photostudio atmosphere, for anyone who wants timeless portraits for themselves and their beloved ones. We are going to meet at my studio in Mannheim, Neckarstadt-Ost area. We will shortly discuss your ideas and vision over a cup of tea and coffee, set the backdrop and light and make beautiful portraits come to life. I will help you to find the right poses to capture your best looks and of course I’ll be catching some candid moments as well, so you have a perfect mixture of photos to choose from. After the photoshoot, you will be able to select 10 portraits of your own choice. The process is easy: you will get a private link to the photo gallery and select favorites on your time-frame. In meiner Werkstatt hast du die Möglichkeit, in einem Zeitfenster von 2 Stunden dein eigenes kleines Schmuckstück zu kreiieren. Dabei ist mir besonders wichtig, dass du individuell nach deinem Geschmack alles aussuchen darfst. Ich lasse dich auf Schatzsuche gehen und du kannst alle Werkzeuge vorher ausprobieren. Auch wenn du vorher keine konkrete Idee hast, helfe ich dir und zeige dir was alles so möglich ist. Ich empfehle in diesem doch knappen Zeitfenster in Silber zu arbeiten. Wenn Silber für dich keine Option ist und du gern in Gold (ca. 130,-€ pro Gramm) arbeiten möchtest, dann finden wir da auch einen Weg. Leider ist es in einem 2h-Kurs nicht möglich mit Steinen zu arbeiten. Du solltest natürlich keine Scheu vor Hammer, Feile und Säge haben und auch das Spiel mit dem Feuer kann teil des Workshops sein. Ich garantiere dir, dass du danach um eine tolle Erfahrung reicher bist. ;-)

Thursday to Saturday: shop tours Sundays: fleamarket tours If you choose a shop tour, we will meet in Kreuzberg, an iconic neighborhood of Berlin. From there we will start exploring the shops. We will spend about 10-30 minutes at every shop location, depending on what you like, visiting 3 up to 5 vintage shops. After a few shops, we can stop at a chic Cafe to have a hot drink and end the tour, or if we have time, just make a break and see a couple of stores more. If you choose a Sunday tour, we will meet in front of Stilbruch Kaffee, at Revaler Str. 9. From there, we will visit the first fleamarket, get a drink and head out on a short walk for a second market. On these grounds, the old mixes with the new and Berliners are opening their wardrobes and selling their things alongside antique vendors. It's really a very interesting mix and I promise you will feel the vibrant spirit of this wonderful city. If you are nostalgic about the 20s, the 60s or the 80s, if youenjoy searching for treasures or are simply curious about Berlin, then this tour is especially designed for you. It's a great way to discover the city both as a tourist but also as a local if you want to find an outfit for a special occasion, furnish or decorate your home or find a fabulous gift for someone. English below / Diese geführte Radtour führt zu Berlins Top-Sehenswürdigkeiten, durch Wohngebiete ("Kieze") & Parkanlagen, oft entlang der Spree. Der Startort ist zwischen Velodrom und Volkspark Friedrichshain, gut erreichbar mit S-Bahn, Tram und Bus! Die Rundtour bietet abwechslungsreiche Einblicke in die Stadt(geschichte) und zeigt anhand "Früher-Heute-Bildern", wie schnell sich das Gesicht Berlins verändert. Beispielhaft seien die Berliner Mauer und das Stadtschloss genannt. Parallel wird deutlich, wie grün und Fahrrad freundlich Berlin im Zentrum ist. Einzelne Stopps werden durch die Fotostrecke bzw. das Video verdeutlicht. Die Gesamtstrecke beträgt ca. 19 km und ist durchgehend flach. Die Benutzung von Fahrrädern + Helmen ist im Preis enthalten (keine E-Bikes). Kinder- und Jugendfahrräder sowie Kinder- und Babysitze stehen gratis zur Verfügung. I am passionate about Berlin History, especially about the period during the Wall. I propose an original experience along the old No man's land to discover life in the East and West but also to understand the evolution and atmosphere of this city. Why is this capital so unique today and how did it happen? My anecdotes and knowledge are accompanied by archive photos that I am constantly looking for. We discover the history of many places, witnesses of the past, what they have become or what they will become. These are for example: old buildings, squats, factories, clubs, to new alternative places and lots of other surprises. I am very dynamic and smiling, my energy and my stories, will surely captivate you for 3h. I love to meet new people and spend time with them, I know how to adapt to my audience.
