Wear a kimono on your own and Nearby Temple

Learn the graceful art of wearing a kimono. I’ll guide you through the process of putting one on, and then we’ll visit a nearby Temple for a peaceful walk and photos. **FOR WOMEN ONLY • You’ll learn the proper method of putting on and wearing a kimono, including how to tie a hanhaba obi (half-width sash). • We’ll stroll around the nearby Shounji Temple and take photos. (In case of rain, you’ll instead learn kimono etiquette indoors.) You’ll walk away with an understanding of the fundamentals of this refined traditional art form, as well as some elegant photos of your adventure. Note: Please wear something over your underwear (such as a camisole and petticoat or slip).

Leather assembly work (1.5 hours) ・Use pre-cut Tochigi leather parts to glue and assemble. ・Work while learning about the basics and process of sandal making. 4. Final Finishing (1 hour) -The sandals are adjusted and polished to create a finished product. The host will help you with the fine details to create a professional finish. 5. Closing (10 min.) -You will receive the finished shoes or sandals, a certificate, and photos and videos of the process. -You will receive a free gift of leather wax. We will give you advice on how to care for your leather products. I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step. • Customize your own lantern by sketching and painting on bold characters, designed to be visible from a distance, and choosing the colors. Spend a few hours with a manga master to see how manga artists create Japanese graphic novels. You’ll learn basic manga drawing techniques and how to create characters. No experience required! • I’ll start by sharing a little about the history of manga. I’ll provide you with professional tools for drawing, like G Pens, ink, and manga paper. • Next, I’ll demonstrate how to draw characters, create their facial expressions, and lay out the comic panels of a manga story. • Now it’s your turn! Create a comic that tells a short story, and we’ll share what we’ve created with one another. You’ll leave with enhanced drawing skills, a deeper appreciation for the craft of drawing manga, and a personalized caricature that I’ve drawn for you!

Explore Shibuya's street art with a local graffiti curator

Join me, a longtime mural preservationist, as I reveal the stories behind the eye-popping street art in two of Tokyo’s trendiest neighborhoods: Shibuya and Harajuku. • In between spotting graffiti tags and admiring massive murals, we’ll duck into secret alleyways, abandoned buildings, and underground spots that are only known by locals. • For daytime sessions, we’ll also stop by galleries and view current art exhibitions (when available). If you select the night tour, you’ll get a glimpse of graffiti artworks painted on shuttered storefronts, which are normally hidden from view. • We’ll wrap up at a cafe with a brief digital demonstration of before-and-after examples of murals, including one that has been turned into an NFT. • You’ll have plenty of time to photograph your favorite scenes along the way. If you prefer being in front of the lens, I’ll share tips for the best angles and poses for selfies. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a film buff, or just looking for an exciting adventure, I promise an engaging and authentic samurai journey. • Meet at the temple, where you’ll change into a kimono and hakama and watch a master samurai perform a tameshigiri (test cutting). • Practice sword-handling techniques, swinging, and cutting using a replica sword. • Put on authentic samurai armor and use a real sword to cut rolled straw mats. Our staff will capture the experience in video and photographs using your smartphone or camera. You’ll leave having participated in a rare hands-on experience featuring real samurai blades, which you won’t find anywhere else in Japan.

The problem with vintage kimonos is that Japanese people in the past were small, so the size of kimonos is small. We will explore the residual area of Asakusa, Tokyo's old town while stopping by my favorite places while visiting some of the must-visit landmarks in Tokyo (e.g. Sensoji temple with Tokyo Skytree view). We will eat at 5-6 local food restaurants and shops that are popular among the locals. Most of them have a very long history and small family-owned businesses. Throughout the tour, you will taste a wide variety of Japanese food and experience our unique culture. Other things to note This tour is run by either me or my staff. Food is included in the price. Let me know if you have any food restrictions or allergies. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate vegetarian food restrictions.
