A day market with many traditional resturants. The environment is a little dirty, but there are really peculiar cusines there. I recommend: - 陳師傅全麥麵食專賣店, the whole wheat noodles and dumpling of master Chen. The menu is chinese only, but they are eager to help, and so are many of the customers. - the best Vietnamese restaurant I found in Taipei so far (must check the name, it's in the middle of the ground floor). And I'm right, because I see Vietnamese people going there go. - 日本清華軒, a Japanese chef that invented a unique rice + noodles cuisine. Its dishes are MSG free. Very popular, very affordable and tasty. Avoid the peak time (12.30) if you don't want to wait for ages.
