Also in the Vietnamese Kitchen family, Cây Tre specialises in authentic Vietnamese cuisine but concentrates more on the traditional dining experience than its street food-focused sibling (and opposite neighbour) Kêu. The menu features items meant for feasting in groups as much as savouring alone. Try the beef pho, which has an 18-hour prep time; it’s hard to go wrong with a starter of salt-and-pepper squid, too.

Amazing Vietnamese place. Not on Kingsland road with all the other Vietnamese restaurant, but totally worth going to. There's always a queue, but it usually takes 10 minutes or less to get a table.
