Here you'll find several exhibits and collections to explore, including Lowcountry History, Historic Armory, Charleston in the Revolutionary War, "City Under Seige" (civil war), The Bunting Natural History Gallery, Kidstory, and the Historic Textiles Gallery. The museum is small but will give you a good overview of Charleston's history. The Museum also has a few historic houses that are open for tours. It is located right across from the visitor's center where you can catch the free DASH shuttle to go and see these houses.

The oldest museum in America and very easy to navigate. We love it because it isnt too big and overwhelming that you are exhausted by the end of it. Plenty big enough to give a great look back into Charleston history and what makes it so special.
