The perfect place to relax if you’ve been walking all day. Vendors sell ice cream, snacks and hot drinks. There is also a children’s play park, and you get an excellent view of the castle. If you’re here at Christmas, the garden turns into a German style winter fair, full of stalls selling food, mulled wine, toys, and rides.

I beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon. Wide open spaces, a cafe, fountain, play park and a view of the Castle.

Created by draining Edinburgh’s largest loch, the Nor Loch, Princes Street Gardens is one of the most important urban parks situated in the heart of Edinburgh.

Ideal for a picnic or coffee right in the city centre, nestled between the Old and New Towns

3.4 MILES AWAY - Created in 1820 following the draining of the North Loch, today the Princess Street Gardens separate the old town from the new. The gardens are over 37 acres (150.000 m²) and are divided into two parts by The Mound, an artificial hill that connects Edinburgh’s New Town and Old Town and where the Scottish National Gallery is located. The Gardens are beautiful all year round. It is where many locals meet up, especially at the Ross Fountain, the park's most important monument. This cast iron structure was installed in 1872 after having been an exhibit at the Great Exhibition of 1862 in London.
