Rent surf and boogie boards or take a lesson at Liquid Dreams. Long Sands Beach in York, about 20 minutes up coast, is a great place for beginning surfers to enjoy summer swell (which is typically tame...not true in the fall and winter when the surf can be quite vigorous).
