The most popular historic house museum in the country. Beautiful landscape, fantastic views of the Potomac, and a step back into the life of the first president of the United States. This is an experience that should not be missed.

Mt Vernon is a must see when visiting Alexandria. Interpreters transport you to the 18th century . Even if George Washington hadn't been the first president his home and farm are a wonderful window into the past.

Epic. Bottom line. There isn't any other word to describe it. I mean, you're on the same grounds the very first president of the US walked and lived on. How can you beat that? Everything is wonderfully kept. There is so much history and land to cover so make sure you bring your walking shoes! The museum is truly remarkable. You can spend hours in it. GW was a remarkable man. We owe a lot to his leadership
