The Lakes has a lot of high price upmarket restaurants and many of them are excellent. This one is special because the food is fantastic and the bill is reasonable considering how good the cooking is. The restaurant is in the building that housed the official stamp distribution office that the poet William Wordsworth ran.

This is a top class restaurant in central Ambleside. The food is inspired by Cumbria... its heritage and people and landscape. It's an intimate restaurant seating just 28 and won its fist Michelin star in 2019.
