Lots of mountain bike options but this is the closest and very kid friendly!

Hiking in the summer and XC skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Dogs are welcome. Incredible views.

The connector path trail head is just across the street from the cabin. It's a great place to go for a quick stroll and enjoy nature.

The snowshoeing trails in Ponderosa State Park and the Bear Basin area are two of the most popular spots. The Ponderosa trails in particular are very well marked and groomed and the trees themselves are stunning with their massive, cinnamon colored bark contrasting the white of the snow. Excellent winter wonderland photos to be had there!
