10m from the appartement. Even if you don’t want to visit the aquarium, go there, grabs the elevator to the last floor (watch for the turtles when you get in the elevator) and enjoy a drink on their rooftop overseing of the Harbour. At the back of the bar, there is a large aquarium you can oversee that holds up some decent sharks! (For free)

Beautiful Aquarium full of fish in the centre of La Rochelle, over looking the port. Dine at the roof top cafe, or venture into town and visit one of the many restaurants and cafes.
