The old historical Holy Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi of Poros is located 4km east of the main city of Poros island and is built on the slope of a pine forest. The Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi (Spring of Life) dated the 18th c. AD, which stands on a forested slope with wide view to the sea. It is a sample of the island monastery architecture. A famous therapeutical source is located in its entrance, giving to the monastery its name. The main church of it is a domed basilica, greatly impressing the visitors at the sight of its wooden carved temple and the Episcopal Throne, created in Cappadocia of Asia Minor in the 17th c.”

Next to the monastery there is a traditional café "Meletis" with exceptional deserts etc. The road under the monastery takes you to the beach.
