Our young neighbors started this cafe in July and it is fantastic. You have to stop in and have a beer and the Lockhart plate!

Kind of a dive, but hands down, the BEST Mexican breakfast in town. Be sure to add chile con queso on top of your scrambled eggs. Great home made tortillas.

Cool interior located in a quiet spot in San Marcos. It is not a college student hangout and the patrons are respectful. They make great small pizzas and the wine selection is broad. If this was in Houston or Austin, you'd have a one year waiting list.

The San Marcos River is perfectly clear in San Marcos and the people that use the Lion's Club rentals are respectful...unlike the commercial inner tubing outfitters on the east side of Interstate 35. BEWARE of tubing in this area if you have children. It is a no-man's land hooligan zone.
