You can take the food with you or eat it in their very relaxed restaurant (no tablecloth and the television will be on) where they only serve soft drinks. So many places you can get thai food - this is our local favorite! We mostly use it for take away but you can eat there as well. They used to be horrible with timing (saying it's ready in 15 minutes when it actually takes 45 minutes), so I have played a lot of wordfeud on my mobile at Thai Kacha :-)

Torvehallerne is a great place where you can either eat or buy your groceries. It's an equivalent to West Market at Vesterbro but Torvehallerne has a nicer setting.

REFFEN: In the last few years "Copenhagen Street Food" at Papirøen has been copenhageners favourite place to go and eat. It was a big indoor street food market with food from all over the world. Unfortunately we write "was" because the place had to be closed down due to stupid city planning. Luckily the place WILL OPEN AGAIN IN MAY 2018 as "Reffen" at a new site a little further north at Refshalevej 167. The quality wasn't allways great but it was allways great to sit outside at the long tables just by the harbour ...and hopefully the new place will offer the same :-)

It takes around 15 minutes to make a "slow beer" so do like the locals: Ordre a bottle beer along with your slow beer, then you have 15 minutes to drink the bottle. And if you hang around be sure to ordre a new slow beer in good time before you end one :-)

There is also Lille Vega (Small Vega) which is very nice as well. Sometimes there are small acts playing downstairs in Ideal Bar, otherwise you go there for a drink or dancing in the weekends.

For most locals it's a nostalgic place to visit because so many things haven't changed for decades or even a century.
If you want to eat some traditional Danish food while in Tivoli try "Grøften" which a legendary place.

Rundetårn in the heart of Copenhagen is one of them and a nice place to go up and enjoy the view of Copenhagen. Other of Christian IV's buildings that is worth a look or a visit is Rosenborg and Børsen.
We haven't tried the white bikes of Bycyklen but it might just be a good way to get around. There are a few docking stations near the apartment. Here at the corner of Sønder Boulevard and Dybbølsgade is one of them. It's electrical bikes so take care! Check it out here: https://bycyklen.dk/en/

If you like sweets and fancy a walk into a time capsule please visit Sømods Bolcher in Nørregade. They make (boiled) candy the same way they have done since the late 19th century and the place is still owned by the Sømod family. It's a shop AND a factory and not much have changed since they moved into Nørregade in 1932. The factory is "open" and visible from the shop and you can normally have a closer look at the production Monday to Friday at 10:15, 12:00, 13:30 and 15:00 (but check their facebook site for changes).

Getting Around
We haven't tried the white bikes of Bycyklen but it might just be a good way to get around. There are a few docking stations near the apartment. Here at Enghavevej between Enghaveparken and Enghave Plads is one of them. It's electrical bikes so take care! Check it out here: https://bycyklen.dk/en/
