Our favorite mercado to stock up on Mexican groceries, dry goods, produce, meat, snacks, beverages, etc. Cook your own feast, or grab trays of taco fixin's in the back to bring home and feed your crew. A full taqueria in the back of the market serves up the best taco's, enchiladas, tostadas, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, menudo, etc in the high desert. Fast, cheap and so delicious!

Non-descript little place in the strip mall behind Wells Fargo bank. We stumbled upon it when the wait at Sam's was too long, and were thrilled to find great Vietnamese food and friendly service! I have food restrictions and was pleased that the cook/proprietress was happy to come out of the kitchen to answer questions about her menu. Plenty of gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. Fresh and flavorful!

Hiking trails weave through the boulders of Hidden Valley. Incredible camping in several campgrounds, stargazing for days! A climber and boulderer’s paradise. A photographer’s dreamland. Entrance fee is $25 per vehicle for a 7-day pass, $12 for a motorcycle or bicycle.

Though it requires an advanced reservation (sometimes booking months out) for a “Sound Bath” (a spiritual and meditative experience inside the structure), even if you aren’t able to secure that, this is still a very cool place to check out.

Built in 1954 over several months a circular, dome-topped building, 38’ tall and 55’ in diameter, constructed by George Van Tassel over the course of nearly two decades in perfect accordance with the instructions of an extraterrestrial visitor!
