Inishowen was successfully selected as one of the Star Wars filming location in Ireland for the new movie, episode 8 - The Last Jedi released in Ireland on the 15th December 2017. Filming took place in 2016 and the entire Peninsula was taken over with set design, cast and crew. Malin Head was the exact location used for filming to represent the planet Ahch-to in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. On your next visit to Inishowen why not join the Star Wars film location movie trail and visit the area the movie was filmed, call into Farren's Bar in Malin and hear the locals stories and get a photograph taken with a Storm trooper, should they be in the area that day. Why not take a boat trip

"You are standing on, or are about to visit, one of my favourite places. The jewel in the crown of the fabulous coast of Antrim. A site of World Heritage and therefore ranked alongside Mount Everest and the Giant Redwoods of California for it's importance to humankind. Volcanic activity helped Finn Mc Cool forge this wonder of the World some 60 Million years ago. It is today the habitat of rare plants and animals. Please treat their home with the pride and the care it deserves."

The Grianan of Aileach (Irish: Grianán Ailigh, sometimes anglicised as Greenan Ely or Greenan Fort) is a hillfort atop the 244 metres (801 ft) high Greenan Mountain at Inishowen in County Donegal, Ireland. The main structure is a stone ringfort, thought to have been built by the Northern Uí Néill, in the sixth or seventh century CE; although there is evidence that the site had been in use before the fort was built. It has been identified as the seat of the Kingdom of Ailech and one of the royal sites of Gaelic Ireland. The wall is about 4.5 metres (15 ft) thick and 5 metres (16 ft) high. Inside it has three terraces, which are linked by steps, and two long passages within it. Originally,

Granny Annie was born in Limavady, in the year 1916. In her early life she attended Largy school. She is remembered for her love of the dances, and socialising with her family and friends. It was at the dances were she met her lifetime husband William at the age of 19 in Foreglen and married in Limavady church aged 21. They regularly attended dances in Derry were one of our venues is located today, on Waterloo street. They loved live music and bands; this too is a big feature in this venue today. William was a sand & gravel merchant and a local farmer from the area and his very own 1947 TBO tractor sits in our flagship venue in Limavady today. Granny was never late and always on time consequ

The hauntingly beautiful Glenveagh Castle on the shores of Lough Veagh…. Glenveagh Castle is a 19th century castellated mansion and was built between 1867 and 1873. Its construction in a remote mountain setting was inspired by the Victorian idyll of a romantic highland retreat. It was designed by John Townsend Trench, a cousin of its builder and first owner, John George Adair, with whom he had been raised in Co. Laois. The designer appears to have imitated the style of earlier Irish Tower-houses adding an air of antiquity to the castle. The building stone chose was granite, plentiful in Donegal but difficult to work and allowing for little detail.

Standing at the viewing point on Sliabh League in Donegal Ireland an amazing sea vista and landscape open before you. From here we can see across Donegal Bay to counties Letrim, Sligo and Mayo, out to the west is the Atlantic ocean as far as the eye can see. North west is Rathlin O’ Byrne island and Glencolmcille and here beside you of course is the magnificent cliffs ofSliabh Liag. Rising almost 2000 ft / 598 m from the Atlantic, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe and twice as high as the cliffs of Mohar, at the base of the cliffs is the “Giants Desk and Chair”. but just as amazing as this view ,is the history we can see here. Over there is Benbulbin with megalithic tombs and mythical
