Food Scene

A delicious and well known local bakery just a few steps from the apartment. We highly recommend coming here at least once during your stay! You can catch a glimpse of the baker making everything from bread to cookies to pizza. You can also order pre-cooked meals like lasagna. Our favorites are the 'brutti ma buoni' cookies and the biscotti al cioccolato. They also make a local specialty called ciambelline al vino which are cookies made with wine that the locals eat for breakfast or with their coffee or tea.

A relaxed restaurant for a delicious and hearty local meal! Try their antipasto misto for a selection of appetizers that are not usually found in the average Italian restaurant. Most of their pastas are made in house (look for the ones that say "fatta in casa"). We also recommend their "Pinsa," a type of Roman pizza dating back to Ancient Rome that looks like an oval flatbread. They say this is where the word pizza comes from and it has a thin crust made of different types of grains than regular pizza.

A pizzeria great for a quick bite. They have limited seating but we recommend getting your food 'a portar via', or, 'to go', and eating in the piazza in front where there is great people watching. Their pizza is 'al taglio' so just tell them what size slices you want and pay by weight. Don't forget to try their daily specials too and if they have supplì, or, Roman fried rice balls, order them!

Ristorante Cacciani is one of the more pricey restaurants in Frascati but the service and food are well worth it if you have a special occasion and want to try a more high-end Italian restaurant.

This is a great place if you want a quick, cheap (but yummy!) lunch. They are located between the apartment and the train station so you can stop by for a quick bite on the way into or out of town or you can grab something to go and eat back at the apartment. They have a variety of different entrees and sides everyday and it is all on display so just point to what you want and tell them how much.
