This family friendly restaurant is a real find. They offer amazing seafood in a buzzing and eclectic space, with a great children's backyard - complete with cubby house - out the back.

This is a lovely little spot by the beach right inside the caravan park. It's dog friendly and super chilled. We stop here while on our coastal walk - the walk starts at Sandon Point and ends at Wollongong if you want to go that far! It's a bike friendly, dog friendly walk, flat and easy.

Ruby's Cafe Bulli
1 Farrell RdThis is a lovely little spot by the beach right inside the caravan park. It's dog friendly and super chilled. We stop here while on our coastal walk - the walk starts at Sandon Point and ends at Wollongong if you want to go that far! It's a bike friendly, dog friendly walk, flat and easy.
This popular cafe is right near a great Indian restaurant (they do takeway). Black Market Roasters is well loved by everyone, but we prefer Two Mountain Merchants as it's got amazing food and is more laid back. But if you're into loud music and a Newtown vibe, then Black Market Roasters is very popular! :)
N.B. We haven't tried the Mexican or Italian restaurants next to Black Market Roasters, but we hear they're pretty good.

It's a cute bar pretty much at the bottom of our road that sells amazing cheese platters and a great wine list.

Sightseeing
This 40 minute bushwalk starts in Austinmer (or you can start at our house and walk to Phillip St 5 mins away, where the bushtrack takes you to the base of Sublime Point walk after 30 minutes). It is a steep incline with lots of steps, but the views are insanely good - and there is a cafe / restaurant at the top for weary bushwalkers!

This is our favourite dog beach - and make sure you grab a takeaway coffee at Headlands Bistro anytime of day and then head along the beach afterwards. Dogs are welcome outside at Headlands Resort and if you feel like a longer pit stop, you eat breakfast, lunch or dinner there and recline on their lounges overlooking endless views (with your dog by your side!!) A great spot. From here you can walk to Coledale all along the beaches. In the opposite direction from the dog beach but still dog accessible - though some beaches require a lead en route) and after 15 minutes you can reward yourself with another coffee or some amazing food at Earth Walker Cafe - or Mr & Mrs Smiths across the road.

If you are after beautiful flowers, head to Luca Luna. It's beautiful inside with flowers, plants and small gifts. Tara, the owner, is lovely. She set up her shop just a year ago and it is thriving.
