Food Scene
For starters it less than a 2-Minute walk from my house. While it is considered the ' Upscale' restaurant district, the food is quite varied, with a number of fusion restaurants. My fave restaurants are the more affordable ones located at the rear of the complex, Mi Hungry and Sham's Bakery. Mi Hungry has great tasting vegan food for vegans of course or just those trying to be health conscious. Sham's Bakery serves authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, the owner of the place is quite friendly and is always willing to engage new customers in discussions... the kibbehs (not sure how that's spelled ) are amazing!

Pules has a great little party/ jam on Wednesday nights called ' Pepperseed' it is great if you are into 90's Dancehall. Also on Friday nights they have a session for new age dancers called MVP. In line with an authentic Jamaican experience this party goes to like 5:00am and begins about midnight. Not the place for heels but is good for dressing up in very trendy clothing and wining all night. The best part it is free and very, very authentic in its vibe. Bring cash though they take cards, it is just easier. BTW cash is king in Jamrock.

This is venue for a lot of great parties. Nothing spectacular per se about the venue. However, tonnes for great parties like Strictly 2K, Footloose and other events are held at this location.

Parks & Nature
It is a great place for the family oriented traveler with kids. The place starts buzzing at 4:00/5:00 am with runners and running clubs. Throughout the non-school days kids can be seen playing along with families and others just chilling .

Getting Around
It is a reliable taxi service that is a little more expensive than a route taxi. That being said it is just okay, you get to ride alone and there is a number to call and they usually come within the specified time frame. I still prefer a route taxi but always ensure they have a 'red plate' it means they are licensed to carry the public . Red Plate literally means a red in colour vehicle registration plate.

This distinct divide can be seen in some of the art pieces. There is constant compare and contrast theme,as well as a need to share a message of struggle or unpopular idea. It is a great place to learn about the intricacies of Jamaican life- even for group far removed from the average Jamaican lifestyle like Rastafarians and country Jamaicans.

Great Spot to check out a Jamaican theatrical production. My favorites are one's directed by Patrick Brown, but most directors and playwrights are decent to good with strong storylines that can be understood even if you are not familar with the local vernacular.

Probably not ideal for a visitor to Jamaica as it is an American Franchise and is designed for membership shopping, it offers a wide selection of things from electronics to heavily processed food.

This is a shopping market with local vendors from the island's countryside selling their goods which is primarily locally grown produce. It is not a tourist destination perse and it is located to nearby urban communities that don't have the nicest reputations. That being said walk with on JMD and no more than 5,000JMD which is equivalent to 40 USD. It is good little market for variety and those who like to haggle, it is dirt cheap and a good experience. Go in search of Gross Mitchell Bananas they are the best.
