The artist house or Baan Silapin is a unique riverside house with a nice ambience of old canal and local neighbourhood. The traditional Thai puppet show is performed at 14:00 every day except on Wednesday. On a small wooden stage in front of the white stupa, intricately-made puppets are manipulated by several artists all dressed in black. It's fascinating how the story captures your imagination; your brain erases entirely the performers in black and soon the puppets take on a life of their own. The four rows of chairs are always full and people sit casually on the floor around the stage, just like it used to be long time ago. This mall is my favorite. There's a supermarket, a few banks, a starbucks, gym, and several shops. There is also a shop that sells yummy sausages.

239 Dinso RdKing Taksin the Great established Thonburi as the administrative center after he liberated the people from foreign occupation. The monument itself was sculpted by Professor Silpa Bhirasri. There was an interesting story on why the professor sculpted the horse's tail that way. The statue was inaugurated on April 17, 1954. Every year, on December 28, His Majesty the King graciously makes a royal visit to the statue to lay down a wreath.
